Backhand cross / Forehand Angle


Player Level - Intermediate/Advanced
Objective:
Improving Deep backhand cross-court and angled forehand cross-court.


  • keeping the opponent under pressure by hitting the ball deep.
  • pushing the opponent out off the court with a forehand cross-court angle.
Instructions:
  • Coach feeds the ball to the players backhand. (1)
  • Player hits the backhand deep cross-court into target area.
  • Coach feeds the ball to the players forehand. (2)
  • Player hits the ball cross-court with an angle into target area
Repeat this drill for about 20 to 30 balls or more (depending on the Players stamina level), give him a brake and repeat.
For lefthanded players do it the other way around. 
Objective for the player
Set targets for the players with some cones or lines.

Forehand / FH Inside-Out


Player Level - Intermediate/Advanced
Objective:
Improving Forehand longline and inside-out forehand.
Instructions:
  • The Coach (C) feeds the ball to the players forehand side.
  • The Player (P) hits the ball longline into target area (yellow square)
  • The Coach then feeds the ball a little higher and slower to the players backhand side.
  • The Player runs around the backhand and preforms an inside-out Forehand
Repeat this drill for about 20 to 30 balls or more (depending on the Players stamina level), give him a brake and repeat.
For lefthanded players do it the other way around.

it is always good to set target areas on court for the player to hit at. in this case it's deep into the corner
